What did I teach? I’m afraid I taught someone what an a̶s̶s̶ jerk I am. Can I say that? I’m teaching my semi grown up son that God cares for him despite himself (like me). He’s coming over after church today. He’s living in his car and can’t figure out why so many bad things are happening to him. He has a full time job that he’s had for a year but still can’t afford a place to live. Please pray for wisdom for me.

What did I learn? I wish I could say I learned to shut up but I’ve got so far to go. I guess I’m still learning what an a̶s̶s̶ jerk I am. If this seems to be all about me, then that’s part of being an a̶s̶s̶ jerk.

I have heard the gospel and from some unlikely sources. I have a friend I pray with on Tuesdays. While we were praying I got the call saying I got the job. My friend was more excited than I was. That was fun.

Gary, personal de-assification is a challenge. Be sure to share your victories so the rest of us on that same journey can benefit.

This morning I will listen to some Joel Osteen, read some MN, watch some BD.

    Who needs church?

  3. Gary says:

If I want to feel good about myself I could watch Joel Osteen but I don’t think I’d get the big picture. Who is MN and BD?

Those are secret PhxP codes 🙂 I cannot reveal but you should be able to figure out over time.

    Two of my favorite ministries.

I am up here on the Canadian border in WA and just got home from attending my son’s Reformed church.

MN stands for Michael Newnham, cutting-edge online Christian meddler.

BD is a guy who comments here.

Lynden is a lovely town. Their bakery downtown was good, but it’s been about 15 years since I was there. They sure have a lot of reformed churches in that town. Enjoy the cool weather.

  8. Xenia says:

Gary, there appears to be a Reformed church on every corner.

I taught the power of the Spirit working by His love and grace.
