    Duane,
I think this is my favorite thing you’ve written.
The tradition I come from taught us little or nothing about the Incarnation and Advent was what the papists celebrated.
This has turned my theology upside down…

Thank you for this post, Duane! I have a hunch that when the day comes that we know as we are known, we will begin to see various sides of not only the Incarnation, but of all of Christ, that we couldn’t even begin to fathom while we dwell in this flesh.

We are so afraid of love… yet God comes to us and takes us to Himself… It is what our faith is all about.

Even my CC pastor mentioned the word Advent this past Sunday. I read to the kids from Luke the other night and we made it to Mary’s Song. As we recited The Lord’s Prayer (and we add onto it), my 8 yo said, “that’s not really a prayer, but how Jesus taught us to pray.” Smart little dude. D6 is still beholden to “now I lay me down to sleep” she’s the rebel in the family.

Well done on all counts… even the “rebel” in the family!
