Thank you, Michael for the update and your testimony. After what you’re going through, that testimony is especially strong! Continuing to pray for
you and yours. To hear you say “God is Good” really means a lot!

  2. Dan from Georgia says:

Very interesting and odd how God moves sometimes.

    Still in prayer.

  3. Michael says:

    The second blessing.
I had to leave Miss Kitty behind when we left.
I couldn’t bear it last night and determined to sneak back in past the roadblocks and if the house was standing to rescue her.
    Long story short…I got through.
    She’s with me.
    So is the Lord…

  4. CM says:

Glad you and your cat family made it out. Any word on when you will be allowed back? Any word on damage to your property (and the neighbors’s properties)?

  5. Michael says:

    We have no idea.
The wind is blowing hard…”a hundred year” wind event for the time of year.
My neighborhood was intact this morning.
We can only pray it stays that way.

Talked to Michael. Not to say that “all is well”, but Michael is well and ministering to those in his community that have suffered devastating losses. Please pray for him and his neighbors and family…

  12. Em says:

Dr. Duane, did they lose their home? ? ?

  13. Duane Arnold says:

Michael said it was still standing this morning…

  14. Em says:

Thank you, Dr. D. There isn’t much to do, but run and pray when the fire and heavy wind combine – dangerous for all

  15. Babylon's Dread says:

Fire, plague, political upheaval, moral confusion, relational collapse, massive apostasy… there is much to be concerned about and to press us to pray

  16. Michael says:

    Thank you, Duane.
Folks, I’m doing better than I deserve…my people and my fur family are all safe so far.
God has been with me and given me strength I have not had for years.

    praying for you…

  18. B says:

Praise God, your home and cat friends are safe! Evacuations are very scary and when you have pets, doubly so. We have been evacuated due to fire threats here in Oceanside also a couple of years ago. We had our dog crates standing by the door for our two Cocker spaniels along with our other belongings. Our home was spared, Thank God! I am praying for Phoenix Ashland and the other small towns devastated by this current fire.

  19. Catherine says:

and agreeing with Babylon’s Dread..a great Darkness is coming

  20. Em says:

As i was driving to my doctor’s appointment this morning i heard on the news that the U.S. now has more people who describe themselves as atheist than who claim to be Christians…
Looks like darkness just may be here… 😕

Michael @ 12:54 … Praying that God’s grace continue… Thank You, Father, thank You

  21. Captain Kevin says:

Thanking God for His provision for you, Michael. Still praying.

  25. sarahmorgan says:

I’ve been praying for you and your family & cats, but only this evening did I see the terrible pictures of the devastation in your town (not in any US paper, but in the UK’s Daily Mail https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8716563/Three-dead-California-bear-fire-two-Oregon-90-major-fires-continue-burn.html ). Continued prayers for you and the healing and restoration of your community.

  26. Catherine says:

Yes Zenia, I agree. Your posts more than any other, and Dread’s , have brought me to a state of deep repentance and sorrow over the state of my own life, and G-d willing, I will turn from all the things you mentioned of late, from the small and the large things of this life that are so soul numbing. I humbly thank you.

  27. Xenia says:

Catherine, thank you. You always have gotten what I try to say.

  28. pslady says:

Praying for you Michael…also for your family (both human & furry) !

  29. Em says:

“With God’s help, let us be real men and real women of Christ. ”
Perhaps, if we could focus, we could manifest Christ. Question is, how do we concentrate in the fires, the hurricanes, the strange droughts, and possible coming earthquakes? Praying for our Faith to strengthen, for the Church remnant(?) to be strong.. .
Hopefully, i am overstating the situation – hopefully..

  30. CM says:

In addition to fiery trials mentioned in Scriptures, I also remember a message given to Congress by our 16th President:

“I do not forget the gravity which should characterize a paper addressed to the Congress of the nation by the Chief Magistrate of the nation. Nor do I forget that some of you are my seniors, nor that many of you have more experience than I, in the conduct of public affairs. Yet I trust that in view of the great responsibility resting upon me, you will perceive no want of respect yourselves, in any undue earnestness I may seem to display.

Is it doubted, then, that the plan I propose, if adopted, would shorten the war, and thus lessen its expenditure of money and of blood? Is it doubted that it would restore the national authority and national prosperity, and perpetuate both indefinitely? Is it doubted that we here–Congress and Executive–can secure its adoption? Will not the good people respond to a united, and earnest appeal from us? Can we, can they, by any other means, so certainly, or so speedily, assure these vital objects? We can succeed only by concert. It is not “can any of us imagine better?” but, “can we all do better?” The dogmas of the quiet past, are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise — with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country.

Fellow-citizens, we cannot escape history. We of this Congress and this administration, will be remembered in spite of ourselves. No personal significance, or insignificance, can spare one or another of us. The fiery trial through which we pass, will light us down, in honor or dishonor, to the latest generation. We say we are for the Union. The world will not forget that we say this. We know how to save the Union. The world knows we do know how to save it. We — even we here — hold the power, and bear the responsibility. In giving freedom to the slave, we assure freedom to the free — honorable alike in what we give, and what we preserve. We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth. Other means may succeed; this could not fail. The way is plain, peaceful, generous, just — a way which, if followed, the world will forever applaud, and God must forever bless.”

  31. Linnea says:

Praying, Michael, for you, and your whole family, blood, fur, church, and community…

  32. mk says:

Prayers for strength continue, Michael, for you and your family. So thankful for God’s hand upon you. The photo images of your community are shocking, I’m so sorry for what you and your community are dealing with.

  33. Em says:

CM, here we are trying to focus on Christ and you give us Abe Lincoln? … 😕

  34. CM says:

Lincoln does speak of how one acts during said fiery trial is significant no?

    But fine.

Maybe next time you post something off topic on a thread I will call you on it.

  35. Jean says:

I am happy to hear the words of Lincoln. What I don’t hear is empathy or a commitment from the President to help the victims of the fires plaguing the Pacific Northwest. Why is it that when the people are suffering, whether by virus or by fire, that our President is not aroused to lead? Being rudderless is the most pathetic condition that God would condemn a nation to. We must have been very unfaithful.

  36. Em says:

CM, feel free – rabbit trails are my specialty….
But the question stands, how do we stay Christ centered (not a generic god) in the chaotic times?

  37. Trump did call the California governor to pledge federal support, not sure if OR and WA.

I’m glad Michael made it out ok with Ms. Kitty. I had made plans for my shephrador puppeh 3 weeks ago when we were on evac watch. I had someone who could take her, many don’t.

What was disheartening to me today was to see 7 or 8 news stories talking about arson, from Big Sur, though Oregon (I had heard anout the Alameda Fire and they caught the perp), all the way to Spokane. This should be national news.

Of course authorities are shaming social media for speculating that it’s antifa or Proud Boys. I heard a lot of other rumors going around from my buddy in Portland.

  38. CM says:

There is a reason why Lincoln is on Mount Rushmore and has a memorial in DC. Neither of which Trump will EVER have. Methinks the Trump memorial will be a prison cell in Attica.

  39. Chris Long says:

Praying for you and community Michael.

  40. Em says:

Jeam @ 3:36… Trump has offered and been rebuffed by agenda driven politicians
Mt. Rushmore, while impressive, is not nearly as impressive as Crazy Horse’s monument down the road
Teddy Roosevelt, Geo. Washington, Abe Lincoln… Once in a while we elect a man of the people… honest, smart and strong
