Regarding the dif between persecution and being offended:

Persecution is not a choice but……………….how we respond to an offense always is. What some would define as persecution would cease simply by exercising repentance and obedience. As Christians more important than the offense committed is how we respond when offended. At the end of the day……….. it takes Grace to give Grace when Grace is not given.

Packer’s list would be savaged by the online “Christian” groups…if they knew who Packer is. Not a PC list, but the part I’ve read is good. Sort of surprised to see Schaeffer at the top of that list. Not that I disagree, just seems a little different than what I would expect from Packer.

Haven’t finished the “Bible in Prison” article, because it is long, but it is great. Everybody should check that one out. Needs a more salacious title.
I’ve been preaching / teaching at the county jail for about 5 years. So much I could say about that…maybe later.

The “how do we know Jesus rose” article is pretty good. Those are pretty much the arguments that convinced me as a young man, 21 years ago.

I think the article about Packer and the books is more than a little misleading.
Basically, it’s a list of all the books that Packer wrote blurbs for that were published by Crossway.
The first five books on Packers actual list would all be written by John Owen…

Ahh, didn’t read the intro, just the list.

The Packer video seems like wasted words. Every believer IS a part of the family and a part of the Church.

i will defend anyone’r right to sound off on any subject, but why does Kyle Roberts think that he knows anything about climate change either? …
yes, the climate is weird, the temperature of the ocean currents and the atmospheric patterns are all askew, we have had some awesome scary solar eruptions and in my neighborhood we can walk across our river right now – all the water is in So. Carolina.
BTW none of it will be affected by Christians – IMHO – quit blaming Christians for being normal people! they might even be right, some of them … once in a while

Climate Change….That article missed the whole point. The scientists don’t agree on the matter.Much of what we hear are from eco activist loons who are as scientifically illiterate as we are. Most conservative christians look at their progressive political credentials…out the door you go

  9. Babylon's Dread says:

    Thank you for this list.

Russell Moore has beautifully presented the case for Evangelical fidelity to the scripture on the matter of sexual morality. I think he is correct but I also think that defections from Evangelicalism will abound. That will include those who drop out as well as those churches who find affiliations that will offer a haven.

Make no mistake the progressives are playing a zero sum game. There will only be winners and losers. There will be no compromise.

This is a heartbreaking update on Peter-John Courson. Please pray for Peter-John and his family.

    UPDATE ON Peter-John Courson
Pastor Jon gave an update on Pete tonight.
He remains alive but in ICU with one on one nursing. He is alert and able to speak but disoriented. In addition to meningitis with multiple brain abscesses he also has blood clots in his legs, infection in his lungs, a hole in his heart and of course a flare up of Crones’. But he is alive. We continue to pray.
Pastor Jon on behalf of the entire Courson family realizes how many are praying for them and shared how much they feel and appreciate it.

Climate change. I don’t pretend to know all the scientific ‘facts’ about it. But…I am always cynical of ‘scientific’ predictions for many reasons. In the past, there’s been many theories about the climate, none of which has happened like the ‘ice age’ theory and others. Then I have to ask what has caused the ice age and the subsequent warming in the past millions of years that they can document. We know it wasn’t caused by humans. The article said 98% of scientists agree with the phenomenon. I have read Nobel prize winning scientists who do not agree with ‘climate change’. I’m not saying that we have no impact on the environment. I’m just not one to jump on the bus when everyone else is. I like to question what I hear and these are the thoughts that I have had about it.
