  1. Interesting – I hope he was passing along forgiveness for his daughter’s murder only and not assuming forgiveness for all the parents and relatives.

I know that some of you here have prayed for our grandson, Bennet, who was born with only 1/2 a heart. After several surgeries Bennet is a thriving and happy 2 year old, although he faces more surgeries. His mama has written a beautiful article about how the Lord comforted and sustained them through the shock, fear, and grief in first days of Bennet’s life. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful, Nonnie–her article has me in tears!

  5. I love that most Phoenix Preacher readers hate brussel sprouts and avocados.

Unfortunately for us Californian avocado lovers the rest of the world is catching up on this wholesome balanced food.

The price may go up because of it’s growing popularity…darn!

Most PP readers hate brussel sprouts and avocados? That’s news to me. I tolerate brussel sprouts and love avocados.

I like both brussel sprouts and avocados.

Saute’ baby brussell sprouts in olive oil with some garlic and bacon or chorizzo. Or roast them with other veg. If you are just boiling them to death, of course you won’t like them.

  9. Actually we had a conversation in here quite a few months back where a few people expressed their dislike for avocados and brussel sprouts.

If you ever invite our beloved Michael to dinner don’t serve them to him…LOL

Nonnie my taste buds reacted when I read how you cook.your brussells…yum!

The less we cook them the more nutrients remain in them.

I lightly steam them for five minutes, add a bit of real butter and sprinkle them with Himalayan salt and some pepper.

Here is a healthy kitchen tip.

Never ever microwave any of the food we eat!

It is very deadly to living things…

If you take two identical healthy plants, water one with water that has been microwaved and allowed to cool down to room temperature.

And water the other plant with just tap water.

The plant that receives the microwaved water will die while the one watered from the tap water will live.

    Why?

    Today is Pearl Harbor day.

When I was 9 I talked with a nurse who was there when it happened.

Her stories were just heart breaking.

Some say 911 was the new Pearl Harbor…

We love avocados in the Heartland. After learning how to roast brussel sprouts with olive oil and salt, they are tasty. I grew up on the boiled version, which I did not care for.

  11. Nonnie says:

Ok, speaking of avocados…..One our favourite recipes is an Avocado/cream cheese/bacon omelette. Just stuff an omelette with some bacon and TBL or 2 of cream cheese and some avocado slices. Fold over and serve. You have never tasted such a good omelette !

  12. Jean says:

    #13, That sounds delicious!

  13. Nonnie says:

Jean, it’s delicious, but you have to repent after you eat it. 😀

  14. Jean says:

Absolutely Nonnie. I think I gained a half pound just reading your recipe 🙂
