From Matt Redmond’s list of thoughts:

    7. Be skeptical of repentance for which applause is given.

    Amen.

  7. em says:

    #6 – thinking…. hmm “applause” is a very worldly response isn’t it?
i deeply wronged you. i apologize… does that call for applause? is approval and affirmation shown by cheering and clapping? hmmm …. thinking…. kind of like clapping at a funeral… should be a solemn moment…

  8. Paul A. Lytton says:

“Be skeptical of repentance for which applause is given.”

I guess it would depend on who is giving the applause….Yourself…..other people….or God.

Bad streaming on the feed of that Jesus People concert.

In this day and age of much improved streaming algorithms you would think they could have afforded a more professional streaming resource.

    Sigh…

I know all of these guys since I was once the roadie who drove the van on the “Marantha” circut that went from Calvary Chapel to northern CA and back with Jimmy Kempner.

    Applause?

Very appropriate if one understands the Scripture…

Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. “I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
    Luke Fifteen Verse Seven

  14. Linnea says:

You know what? I think there’s applause in heaven for forgiveness, for support for one another, for love for the brethren…I’m good with that, aren’t you?

  15. Paul A. Lytton says:

If you have repented and they know it, they’ll clap their hands…clap-clap
If you have repented and they know it, they’ll clap their hands…clap-clap
If you have repented and they know it; the Angels will always show it,
If you have repented and they know it, they’ll clap their hands…clap-clap

Post Script… here is the link to Tullian Tchvidchian’s sermon that i found so impactful a couple weeks back if anyone’s curiosity was frustrated by not finding it… i think Erunner did find it and i didn’t realize that he had located the correct one… it’s not worth multi-tasking while working on something else, but if one is just curious, i’d suggest catch the last 10 min’s
