Please pray for the people of the Philippines and the midwest with the latest storms. Also pray for reunions of families over the holidays and the loneliness that can take place over the holidays for singles and estranged families. Please also pray that the prayer thread is the most used thread in PP and we get 500+ hits with prayer requests and praise reports, I know it sounds a bit tripe but it would be awesome.

praying those things, brian. Our prayer thread has been a little less active these days…for a few reasons I guess.

Praying these things with you…I cannot even imagine all that the people of the Philippines are going through. Praying for mercy for them, and for strength in this time of recovery and attempting to piece together what to do next. Praying for strength for the aid workers, and for health for them.

Praying as well, as you mentioned, for those who struggle through the holidays. That they can know the comfort and the love of God in this season, that His grace can enfold them and heal them. Praying that we can be sensitive to those around us and aware of those who need someone simply to pay attention….and to those who need something much deeper.

Prayers also appreciated for the situation I have mentioned before. Our friend is not turning back toward her husband, or acting in any way repentant, rather she is more brazen and arrogant in her sin. The husband is making some difficult choices, but also trying to remain in a position of welcoming her back if she will repent. Obviously the holidays are going to become a very difficult time.

    brian,

Amen…it’s time we focused on this again.
Thank you, Rick…praying with Sarah as well.

  5. Michael says:

Blessed art Thou, O Lord; Our God, the God of our Fathers; who turnest the shadow of death into the morning; and lightenest the face of the earth; who separatest darkness from the face of the light; and banishest night and bringest back the day; who lightenest mine eyes, that I sleep not in death; who deliverest me from the terror by night, from the pestilence that walketh in darkness; who drivest sleep from mine eyes, and slumber from mine eyelids; who makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to praise Thee; because I laid me down and slept and rose up again, for the Lord sustained me; because I waked and beheld, and my sleep was sweet unto me. Blot out as a thick cloud my transgressions, and as a cloud my sins; grant me to be a child of light, a child of the day, to walk soberly, holily, honestly, as in the day; vouchsafe to keep, me this day without sin.

Thou who upholdest the falling and liftest the fallen, let me not harden my heart in provocation, or temptation, or deceitfulness of any sin. Moreover, deliver me to‑day from the snare of the hunter and from the noisome pestilence; from the arrow that flieth by day, from the sickness that destroyeth in the noon day. Defend this day against my evil, against the evil of this day defend Thou me. Let not my days be spent in vanity, nor my years in sorrow. One day telleth another, and one night certifieth another. O let me hear Thy loving‑kindness betimes in the morning, for in Thee is my trust; shew Thou me the way that I should walk in, for I lift up my soul unto Thee.

  6. Praying for all on here.

I have a personal prayer request.
I have no idea why, but for the past few weeks, I have been depressed.
It has been especially bad since yesterday morning.
I don’t usually get this way for extended periods of times and I usually know why I’m feeling depressed and so it doesn’t usually last very long.

    Prayers would be appreciated though.

  7. Michael says:

    Derek,

    You’ve got them…

  8. Rick Kincaid says:

    Derek,

I am praying for you. I have gone through the same thing. In the event this is not a spiritual event and may be physical, I found that taking a vitamin D3 supplement is very beneficial especially as the days get shorter and there is less exposure to the sun.

  9. Thanks both.
I will try out the viatmin D3.

  10. jlo says:

Praying for all. Praying for Derek.

D3 works great, so does exercise.

  11. Nonnie says:

    Derek, prayers here.

  12. sarahkwolfe says:

Derek…praying for you this morning. I was offline most of yesterday. Praying for grace for you and for wisdom and insight to what is the cause.

Praying for grace for each today…for an awareness of wonder as we enter the craziness of holiday seasons. Praying for those who are overcome with loneliness in these seasons, that they may find kindness and understanding and mercy. Praying that they may find homes opened to them and true friendships blossoming.

Fasting with some friends today and praying for our friend and her choices. Praying for opportunities to communicate, and wisdom in our words. It seems that God is answering…many of us seem to be “bumping in to her” at random places. Even the pastor of the church her husband attends (where she had been involved) ran into her at a store…and had never seen her anywhere outside church before. God keeps planting people in her path. Praying she responds.
