  28. Bob Middleton says:

“I declare to you brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed- in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
“Where O death is your victory? Where O death is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!”

Its a little known fact that I introduced Ryan Couch to the PP….and the first month of Mr Potato Head it was both Ryan and I …..often on two different threads while talking to each other on the phone:)

It is so funny to think about now, and I am so glad to be Jeff Stewart on the blog now, glad that Ryan is himself but every now and then I miss Mr Potato Head:)

  40. ShowMeWhere? says:

I’m sorry, I was mistakenly told that it John Stewart, not you, who had lost his wife Karen. I am very sorry for your loss…

  41. Concerned says:

Jeff, You don’t know me but after hearing about your wife’s illness, and being a mom myself I have been following and praying for you all.
I will keep your family in my prayers. It brought tears to my eyes reading about your family telling their mom how much they love her. That is so special and many families never have that opportunity.
May God give you all comfort.

  42. Shaun Sells says:

Jeff, I shared with my wife about your loss yesterday and we prayed. I did not realize it, but she met your wife at the pastors conference the year she was diagnosed and they prayed together. It was the first year my wife was able to attend a pastors wives conference and she was blessed to meet your wife and feel welcomed by her.

  43. Dave Rolph says:

Oh Jeff. I am so sorry for you and your family. I am mourning with you, but not as those who have no hope. She didn’t die; just moved.

  44. Michael says:

    Even I didn’t know that! 🙂

  45. Jeff Stewart says:

Michael, thats funny, I am pretty sure that Ryan and I were arguing with you at the same time in 2 different threads 🙂

Show me where…..no worries @ all

Concerned……thank you so much……when Karen was nearing Jesus— I asked everyone to give the kids and I a few moments, we had such a sweet time praying for her, telling her we would take care of each other, and that we would hold on to Jesus……also I was able to tell the kids again what she told them many times……that her greatest concern from the moment she was diagnosed was not dying, but rather her greatest fear was that the kids would be angry with Jesus for taking their mom, and harden their hearts toward Him.

Shaun….that retreat I drove Karen there, got us a hotel room drove her to the conference, picked her up whenever she was ready , took her to eat, prayed with, cried with, and loved her then took her back for some more time with the pastors wives….and I will never forget her telling me that they had a little prayer time with the ladies seated near each other, and one of the pastors wives, said wow my husband saw a prayer request for you on the internet (phoenix preacher) and we prayed for you before i came, she then prayed for Karen again, and it really blessed our hearts and was the first of many times we were made aware of the multitude of people praying for us, many of whom we had never even met….please tell your wife what a blessing she was to Karen

  46. Concerned says:

My daughter has been asking me why God allows so many to suffer and have so much pain. I know the answers from a biblical perspective, but in my heart it hurts so much.

I could not imagine living through that -I saw you both on some TV show online awhile back and I was inspired.

Perhaps the Lord will use your family to give others strength to face their own trials.
Seems your kids are walkong with Jesus and that they have a strong foundation at a time when other kids are going astray and are not touched by God in the way that yours has through this. Sorry if I said too much.

  47. Jeff Stewart says:

Karens Memorial Service is Friday June 11th @ 11am @ Calvary Chapel Chino Hills 4201 Eucalyptus ave, chino, ca 91701

  48. Jeff Stewart says:

Concerned, please dont apologize, Karen and my greatest desire is that Jesus would use all of this to help point others to Him 🙂

  49. Shaun Sells says:

Jeff @45 – brings tears to my eyes that you would remember that little moment. I will share that with my wife, and many others to remind them of the personal importance our little prayers have in the lives of others, even if they aren’t answered as we hoped.

  50. paigemom says:

Continuing to hold you and your family in prayers……

    God bless and carry you,

  51. Captain Kevin says:

Jeff, continuing to pray for you and the kids.

I have the picture in my mind of you and Ryan “playing” Mr. Potato Head. LOL!
