Will Rob McCoy Do The Right Things?
In the world of free market religion, accountability is basically a concept in the minds of aggrieved parishioners.
We’ve found that across denominational boundaries, rogue clerics and con artists get away with fleecing and beating the flock without much consequence, unless laws have been broken.
Even then, they are often able to start anew and a fresh group of marks embraces the cretin and they continue in their wicked ways.
The question keeps being asked, “do you trust Rob McCoy?”.
The answer is that we don’t have any choice.
He’s in control of this debacle whether we trust him or not.
Therefore, let me give you the positives so far.
Mr. McCoy has responded every time I’ve contacted him and we have had frank conversations about the situation.
I have been crystal clear about what I expected out of the process he’s engaged in.
- An outside audit.
- Financial assistance for whatever the young people involved need.
He has given me his word that he will do everything he can to make those two things happen.
I believe he will also pursue in a proper manner whatever that audit discloses.
Getting there has been a lot more complex than McCoy thought it would be, and those complexities will mount as we go.
Until and unless he proves otherwise, I will continue to trust him and engage with him to see our mutual goals accomplished.
I will pray that he has the wisdom needed to navigate this minefield and come out doing justice on the other side.
We don’t have another choice that may result in true righteousness.
God took this ministry down in 72 hours…we’ll see how long He takes to set it all right.
